The Holocaust A Mass Murder Of Millions Of Individuals

The Holocaust was a mass murder of millions of individuals’ primary to and during World War II. â€Å"Only 54 percent of the people surveyed by the Anti- Defamation League (ADL) in a massive, global poll have ever heard of the Holocaust† (Wiener-Bronner). The Holocaust was from 1933-1945 and was run by German leader named Adolf Hitler. Hitler was a man who wanted to create his own race of people. Therefore to create this race, he wiped out anyone who did not have the specific descriptions that he wanted. For people to fit into his race, they had to have blue eyes and blond hair. This excluded the Jews and from then on Hitler slowly dehumanized them. In the concentration camp the first thing they had to pass was the selection test. The selection test was what the SS man (German soldiers) used to determine who was fit for work. Usually children, mothers, and elders were the first to die because they were not mentally fit for the work they were going to be given. People wh o passed the selection process either died by starvation, disease, fatigue, or assassination. It took twelve years before anyone intervened and by then it was too late for millions of people. Even though over twelve million people died during the Holocaust, genocides have still happened in Rwanda, Darfur and Cambodia. Rwanda is a country in East Africa, which has had a mass killing with over 800,000 of its civilians dead. Personal Statement In my mind, Project and Enterprise Management is the art of evaluation and control. When I was a kid, I have been curious about the methods of self-management and ask myself: how one plan could be completed efficiently, how some people could coordinate various things in life successfully and the way we evaluate and get the perception of the state of one object or a person. The Birth Experience Essay Oh my goodness! She looks like it hurt so bad if someone does not get the nurse in here, I am going to scream for her. I can see the pain was unbearable as she breathe heavy while the contractions intensify. My sister giving birth to her first-born was amazing sight as a man watching. Lucky I am not scared of blood and plus I love my sister. I could not get to close to her to hold her hand but it was aggravating to be in that room watching my sister in pain as she give birth to my nephew. I was your average person living an average life. I was so caught up on life wondering when something amazing was going to happen to me. I was starting to think I wasn’t worthy of amazing things, while everyone around me was having miraculous things happen until The month of July, July 15, 2007 to be exact, I felt different when I woke up, slightly weird; I was thinking it was going be a good day. Funny thing was my sister found out she was pregnant. I had not noticed her sickness with me being at work until my step mother asked her, â€Å"Ma’am do you need any pads or tampons while I’m heading out? † I looked and replied, â€Å"I don’t need hear that, text that kind of stuff. I thought she had a lot stress on her because, of all the things going on in her life. Surely, I did not want hear my sister say she was pregnant. She denied being pregnant, until a week or two had come and gone. I went on with my normal routine until one day she could not keep anything down. At that time I knew something was wrongI had a horrible feeling. A 20 yr. old healthy young woman not being able to eat or drink anything she was surely dying to tell me the truth. I overheard her making an appointment to the doctor she ask to receive the earliest appointment the doctor had. I decide to take off that of her appointment so she had to tell me what was going on with her. I went alone with her to the doctor’s office but the trip to the Doctor’s Office was like trying to swallow a pack of nails. Once we arrived, she signed in and sat down as we waited her legs were shaking so fast like a man waiting for sentence to death row. â€Å"Charl, Charlzette Jordan,† a distant voice called. She slowly rose to her feet it seemed she already knew the answer. The nurse advised that they would be drawing blood to determine the cause of her illness. I sat in the chair impatiently while the nurse prepared to draw her blood. The nurse placed the labels on the tubes, turned to her, and said, â€Å"Ok that’s it,† â€Å"That’s all,† she replied. She said, â€Å"Yes your results will be in within 1-2 weeks. † As I followed the exit signs back to the lobby and out the front door I thought to myself why they don’t want tell what she really here for. As we proceeded to the car, the ride home was antagonizing no one said a word the whole ride home. Now, the next week and a half were torture until the phone rang. I just stood there in the kitchen after eating a double stack of pancakes, bacon, grits with butter and sugar. Oh my! The aroma of the breakfast was still in the air. Ring, ring, ring the telephone continued it was like a distant sound. Poem: Life's A Beach Lifes a Beach I turned off the car and took a deep breath. Looking slowly up into the pink sky, I began to watch the golden sun go to sleep. The beach seemed deserted, quiet, but peaceful. I opened my door and put my feet out on the soft sand. I started taking my shoes off, then my socks. I threw them in the passenger seat, and then shut the door. I looked out over horizon of the lake and started walking towards the still water. With each step I took, I could feel the warm sand crunch between my toes. Then suddenly, a sharp rock, but not sharp enough to break the skin. She didnt complain about it like Ambrosch did, it seemed very much like Ambrosch did very little work and just spent his time bossing her around. In the end when Jim returns to meet her we find out that she is still working even after she has born numerous children. Near the Usumacinta River, Palenque is a Mayan city-state that reached its greatest period during the seventh century CE. When Palenque was first discovered, it was completely overwhelmed by the plantlife of the rainforest. Through time, excavation revealed a massive archaeological site that attracts thousands of tourists each year. What attracts all of these tourists is not the size of the site, but rather the delicate, sophisticated, and intricate architecture and art that has been discovered there. Palenque is known most for their fine buildings, roof combs, sculptures, and bas-relief carvings that exemplify the best of Mayan creations. It is not as large as other known Mayan sites such as Tikal or Copan, but makes up for its size with its beauty deep in the rainforest. It is actually so deep that much of the Early Classic history of the city-state has yet to be excavated. Archaeologists have said that only five percent of the actual city has been uncovered. Palenque has a very complex history and we only know a part of it from what archaeologists have excavated. The city itself has gone through an extensive process of overbuilding through time. The actual structures that are visible today are said to be the rebuilding efforts of the aftermath of the Calakmul attacks in the seventh century. More of the history of Palenque was recently revealed to us through deeper understanding of the extremely complex Mayan hieroglyphic writing system. By reading these ancient inscriptions, experts gained knowledge of Palenque’s rivals such as other sites like Calakmul and Tonina and also the first list of dynastic rulers. This is the reason why Palenque is quite probably the most written about and studied Mayan site. From that list of dynastic rulers, one ruler is most famous and synonomous with the city of Palenque. He is most responsible for rebuilding and also Palenque’s golden age. His name was Kinich Janaab Pakal and his tomb was found not so long ago when excavating the Temple of Inscriptions. It indeed is a very large structure where it measures 60 meters wide and almost 28 meters high. Some of the biggest stones used weigh 12 to 15 tons. Not far from the temple, is the Palace of Palenque. The palace consists of several buildings and courtyards that have been constantly built over each other. The Palace is especially significant for all the sculptures and bas-reliefs that were found therein. However, the most distinguishing factor of the Palace is the unique four-story tower that is not found at any other Mayan site. Some historians say that it was used as a lookout tower while others say it was used along with the Sun to reveal certain times of the year. Another major feature is the group of sophisticated structures known as the Temples of the Sun, Cross, and Foliated Cross. They received their names from early explorers who named them after the cross-like images found on the inscriptions. The images are actually a representation of the Mayan center belief of the tree of creation. They are especially distinguishable because of the graceful placement on top of step pyramids. Each temple is marked by elaborate relief carvings in the inner chambers. The carvings depict figures participating in rituals and presenting certain sacred objects to a deity or higher authority. Because of better understanding of Mayan symbols, we now know that the images depict Kinich Kan Bahlam during passage ritual and also his initiation of kingship. Palenque is also notable for it’s advanced technology. When someone hears the word, aqueduct, they think of ancient Rome. However, the ancient Mayans had their own version in Palenque where they built an underground vault with great stone blocks. It is estimated that about 400,000 eggs (ovum) are stored in eachovary at birth. However, amongst the Reform and Conservative Jews, their attitudes have been much greater. Reform Jews have accepted that a woman can perform any religious ritual that a man does. They were the first group to do away with the mehiztah, that separated men from woman in the synagogue, they felt the customs and practices should be more in keeping with modern society. They usually undertake more complex tasks and tend to work more independently than other classroom-based staff. Under the direction of a teacher, they often plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individual pupils, groups and (in the short term) whole classes. They also assess, record and report on pupils progress. They act as a special assistant for a specific subject (f.e. literacy, ICT, sign language), group (young children, teenagers, special needs, gifted and talented) or department and help develop support materials. In order to do this effectively, the HLTA must understand the aims, content, teaching strategies and intended outcomes. They likewise need to have a solid knowledge of the curriculum to make sure they teach to a high standard as well as a diverse portfolio of learning strategies and styles to enable each pupil to fulfil their potential.
